The Community Forum was set up in 2001 under local government reform to ensure that the voice of the community is represented in the economic, social and cultural development of the county. It enables the community and voluntary organisations across the county to voice issues and concerns relating to the development of their communities
and acts as a platform for exchanging information, sharing experience and working collectively. There are currently 280 community and voluntary groups registered with the Community Forum in Co. Waterford. In addition to representing local needs and interests, the Community Forum strives to: highlight and support volunteering across the county particularly through the Community & Voluntary Awards Scheme; facilitate and promote the provision of key training to volunteers; promote social inclusion and; act as an information resource to community and voluntary groups.
