A large group attended the first 2010 Business Afterhours in the new IFAC offices recently. These offices located at The Brewery, Fairlane, Dungarvan  – near the new children’s playground  are fitted to the highest quality and offer a warm welcome to all who venture through their doors.

Greeted by Chamber staff and Eoghan Drea- manager of IFAC Dungarvan and his team, guests were treated to a wide variety of fine foods and beverages. Members of our business community were happy to meet others and relax after their days work.

Eoghan then formally welcomed everyone and explained how IFAC was set-up thirty years ago as a co-operative to service the Accountancy needs of the Agricultural community. In past years IFAC have also branched into other sectors and today serve a broad spectrum of clients from all sectors of the Agricultural and Business communities.

IFAC are present in Dungarvan for the past twenty eight years. The firm prospered under the stewardship of Mr. John O'Grady for the majority of those years. Originally based in O'Connell Street in the town, IFAC relocated in May 2009.

Today IFAC have Twenty Two offices around the country. IFAC's structure allows it to maintain a dedicated Tax planning department which is used daily to support the local offices. IFAC's taxation department, owing to its background, is renowned for tax planning around family farm transfers and estate planning.

IFAC's staff  in Dungarvan consists of four qualified accountants, one accounting technician and a Secretary.

A very unique and convenient service, Eoghan explained, offered by IFAC is the mobile book keepers service they can provide through their 7 book keeping staff. Here a  book keeper will call to your home or place of business and record your accounts during the year. This information is then available to staff in the office allowing for access to your accounts and for efficient tax planning by way of a pre year-end review. Perfect for sole traders, farmers, tradesmen etc who appreciate how difficult gathering up all their paperwork can be and spending time within the 4 walls of an accountant’s office.

IFAC Dungarvan is managed by Eoghan Drea. Eoghan is a Chartered Accountant with a strong background in Agriculture possessing a B.Agr.Sc  and spending a number of years working as an agricultural advisor. In previous employments Eoghan has worked with Ernst & Young's Auditing  department and obtained management experience with KPMG in both Audit and Taxation departments.

Alan Ryan, vice President of the Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber congratulated IFAC on their recent office move and also on their innovative service of mobile book keeping. In a time where positive stories about businesses are some times hidden, it was great to celebrate the advancement of a local business. All at IFAC were wished well for a long and successful future.
