AnnMarie Coughlan whose Business;Education, Training & Family Consultationgives training and courses on family relationships and children’s behaviour. These courses and consultancy services are aimed specifically at schools, colleges and anyone working with children. The content is based on Dr Tony Humphreys’ ethos of self understanding.
In layman terms, AnnMarie Coughlan gives talks to people interested in how family relationshipswork and what happens to the family members when changes occur.Educated in the UK, AnnMarie commenced teaching young children and those with special needs. AnnMarie moved up the educational career ladder, and became a manager in education , working with familiesunder stress, helping children and young people to access their education. AnnMarie also supported schoolsin the very important times of change that affect most institutions. In 2006, when studying for a Diploma in Parent Mentoring at UCC, AnnMarie realised that this model of mentoring parents could also be useful to those who work with families and children (schools, support agencies, children’s sports & social clubs) as well as to parents.
The experiences this trainer/ consultanthad in supporting familiesand working as a managerfor schools in the UK helped her to see the potential of using this approachin developingrelationships with young people in the workplace.
The main distinctive features of AnnMarie’s training is looks at;
§The Adults ' experiences and understanding of childrearing and childrens’ behaviour
§Adult behaviour in the home and workplace will affect the way children and young people behave
§'Real life' stories of familes are used as examples.

AnnMarie Coughlan who is based in Cappoquin, set up this business only a year ago and already trains in Waterford, Cork and Tipperary counties. She is adamant that as a proactive and effective trainer she evolves the programme to suit individual clients needs to be of as much benefit as possible. AnnMarie’s philosophy is to be a professional, to always listen to her client and to always give her absolute best!Her advice to anyone else considering starting up their own business is to take a deep breath and jump in! She is aware and has experienced lots of people and organisations who are interested in new ideas and able to give practical help. She also advises that people need to be flexible, to be able to adapt to peoples needs, be accessible and always explore an opportunity!
